Man Suspected Of Threatening Motel Clerk With A Fake Gun Arrested

Video will be available shortly.

A transient man is arrested at a Grand Junction motel for pointing a rifle, which later turned out to be a toy, at a clerk. According to the Grand Junction Police Department after complaining several times Friday about his room key not working at the Motel 6 on Horizon Drive, 32–year–old Mark Grabill returned to the motel's main office around 11:30 Friday night allegedly pointing an M–16–style rifle at the female clerk on duty. After he left the office, the clerk contacted police saying she feared for her life. Police apprehended Grabill in the parking lot without incident. The initial investigation revealed that the rifle was in fact a plastic replica. Grabill was taken briefly to St. Mary's Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation then was transferred to the Mesa County jail where he is facing felony menacing charges.
