Former Mayor Enters Mesa County Commissioners Race

Former Grand Junction mayor Reford Theobold is announcing his bid to replace Mesa County commissioner Tillie Bishop, who will not run for re–election.

Theobold says he has no agenda and that the current commissioners have done a good job of steering Mesa County in the right direction.
theobold is a life–long resident of Mesa County and says he's familiar with the issues of rural areas.

" I am familiar with the rural issues and things are changing and growing, and they need to be able to respond. I was born in Loma, and I understand why so many want to have five county commissioners."

Theobold served on the Grand Junction city council from 1987 to 2003.
He has also served on the JUCO committee and the Mesa State Alumni Association, and is a member of the Grandjunction Lions Club.
