Republican Candidates Stump In Mesa County

Republican political candidates hoping to make it on to the August primary ballot give their campaigns a boost. Each candidate had two minutes to stump during Mesa County republican luncheon. The opportunity was especially important to the candidates running in hotly contested races such as state house district 54 where there are three candidates. The same number of candidates is seeking the position of Mesa County assessor. Party Chairperson Lois Dunn says Mesa County republicans have some tough choices ahead. Candidates wanting to be on the August primary ballot must receive at least 30 percent of the delegate vote at the county assembly on April 8th or they can petition onto the ballot by acquiring a certain percentage of signatures from eligible voters.
