Gay Marriage Ballot Initiative Proposed

Denver (AP)- Supporters of a constitutional amendment banning
gay marriage in Colorado have filed their proposed ballot issue with the
secretary of state. Jon Paul, executive director of Coloradans for Marriage, said the proposal was filed Friday. It will say marriage unites one man and one woman. The group discussed the language of the proposal last week with the Colorado Research Council, the state's bipartisan research arm. The proponents need to get 68–thousand signatures on petitions to get it on the fall ballot.
