How Western Colorado can profit from the changing face of energy production will be one of many subjects explored at an energy expo sponsored by in part by Club 20 this Friday.
Although the search for natural gas and oil shale prospects dominate discussions on the Western Slope today, the future of energy exploration will focus on other sources. The expo will examine current technology as well as some of the future options available for the nation, and how Western Colorado can take the lead on new technologies and energy sources.
Club 20 Executive Director Reeves Brown says the public is welcome to come and learn about why Western Colorado is in the focus right now for energy development and what that means in terms of job opportunities and of posturing this region as a leader in the next stage of the country's energy future.
Representatives of the Federal Department of the Interior and experts on world and national energy trends will be among the nationally recognized authorities appearing at a speakers forum. More than 40 exhibitors will be offering displays on energy related themes.
There is no admission charge to the Energy Expo, which is scheduled for Friday at Two Rivers Convention Center from 8AM to 4PM.
