Big Crowd On Hand For The First Ever Energy Forum and Expo


U.S. Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton visits Grand Junction Friday for the first ever Energy Forum and Expo. For the first time ever, energy industry representatives come together in Grand Junction to showcase what's happening in the way of developing the natural resources in western Colorado. From the development of oil shale and natural gas drilling to the use of wind and the sun to create power it was all at the Energy Forum and Expo. This included the use of biomass as an alternative fuel. The event is timely in the wake of President Bush's push for energy independence. U.S. Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton addressed the crowd at the Two Rivers Convention Center and says there's not a one size fits all solution to the world's energy crisis and expects western Colorado will play a significant role in meeting the nation's energy needs especially in the way of oil shale. The Energy Forum and Expo was made possible by it's many sponsors, some of which included American National Bank, City Market, and Rocky Mountain Health Plans.
