Voters in Montrose may decide whether to build a new multi–million dollar community center.
Planners and community leaders discussed the preliminary ideas for a new recreation facility with residents Monday night. During a recent survey, residents indicated that's what they wanted to see. During Monday's meeting, officials told the group about two different options, discussed what would be included in the facility and gave a rough financial estimate, which could around $18M.
A board has been established to look into the idea of a community center further, but they are planning to move slowly and cautiously.
If all goes as planned, citizens could have the opportunity to vote on the issue.
