Aspen, Colo. (AP) Authorities say two teenage hikers from Idaho have been injured in a lightning strike near Aspen.
The 15-year-old girl and 17-year-old boy had been hiking with three other family members from Idaho on Sunday. The Pitkin County sheriff's office said there was a lightning strike when the group was about 1.5 miles up the American Lake trail South of Aspen.
The girl temporarily lost consciousness and the boy suffered burns to the bottom of both feet.
The girl was able to walk to the trailhead after receiving CPR. Both were taken to Aspen valley hospital before being airlifted to the children's hospital in Aurora.
Their specific conditions are unknown.
