Thousands of farmers from across the country's mid–section converge at Western Implement’s 23rd Annual Farm Consignment Auction. Every year the 3–day affair attracts more than 2,000 farmers who are excited and ready to shop the more than 13 acres worth of farm machinery. There are some 30,000 farms and ranches in Colorado covering 31.3 million acres. While that might seem like a lot some farmers say the reality is that large farm operations in our state are slowly disappearing. As developers move into farm towns some farmers are forced to break up their land into smaller pieces and sell. But while large farms are becoming a thing of the past most farmers say Colorado’s agriculture industry will remain active and prosperous.
The 23rd Annual Farm Consignment Auction will continue at Western Implement through Monday.
