Dry Conditions May Mean Bad Fire Season

Plentiful snow in the high country is doing nothing to help the drier conditions throughout the rest of the state.
The state forest service is reporting extremely dry conditions on the front range, the Eastern plains,
and Southern Colorado. Some are predicting that the dry conditions, the high winds and the warmer temperatures could cause a wildfire season similar to the record–drought year of 2002.
65 fires have already been reported so far.
