$40 million dollars of unclaimed property is in the hands of the state,
and state treasurer Mark Hillman is trying to get that money back in the hands of those it belongs to.
Thursday, Mesa County treasurer Monika Todd,
and Hillman kick off the Great Colorado Payback.
Local residents will be able to contact the Mesa County treasurers office to reclaim their property.
In a few weeks...
the names of all Mesa County citizens that are owed property, will be on the Mesa County Treasurer's Website.
