Colorado Gets New Voting Equipment

For the first time ever those with disabilities will be able to vote privately and independently using Colorado's new voting equipment. Secretary of State Gigi Dennis announced the certification of Sequoia Voting Equipment for use in Colorado for the upcoming 2006 elections.
The newly purchased voting systems complies with the federal Help America Vote Act which requires it to be handicap accessible. The new system is also equipped with voter verifiable paper audit trails.
Dennis says there is enough new equipment statewide for all counties and it will be delivered to clerks in a timely fashion so they can test and train their equipment for the primary election.
