Grand Junction Police On Lookout For Hit And Run Driver

In the early hours of Sunday morning, an unknown vehicle drove through a protective fence, knocked over a small tree and finally ran into the Mesa Developmental Service building on the corner of North 23rd St. and Elm Ave.
Following the crash, the vehicle apparently drove off. Nobody inside the building was injured and at this time, the Grand Junction Police Department has not contacted the persons involved in the incident.
Damage to the building is estimated to be more than $5,000. The suspected vehicle is a brown 1980s model Chevy, anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous Crimestoppers tip line at 241–STOP.
