Snowboarder Dies Near Loveland Ski Area

Georgetown, Colo. (AP) - A Clear Creek County sheriff's deputy says a
young snowboarder who died near Loveland Basin Ski Area apparently
suffocated in deep snow. Searchers found the boy's body shortly after two friends he was with reported him missing Friday. The boy and two friends took a lift to the top of a mountain then climbed to a ridge. Investigators say the three boys were planning to slide through
out–of–bounds terrain from the ski area to nearby Loveland Valley
Ski Area. The boy was with a church group from Central City, Nebraska. Nebraska Christian School Superintendent Daniel Woods identified the boy as Chris Toukan. Sheriff's officials did not release the boy's name because he is younger than 18. The three boys were boarding in an area posted as dangerous.
