Nine people were injured in an early morning car accident Saturday.
When Colorado State Patrol arrived at the scene,
it was determined that a trailblazer had been traveling East on highway 50 when it was hit by a Pontiac Grand Am,
that was attempting to turn onto highway 50 going East.
The driver of the Pontiac,
20–year–old grand junction resident Brandie Peterson, was transported to Saint Mary's with head injuries.
The trailblazer driver,
28–year–old Texas resident Maribel Rizo Delacruz
with her seven passangers,
for treatment of minor injuries.
The occupants of the Trailblazer have all been released from the hospital.
The condition of Peterson is unknown at this time.
