One man is sent to jail and another to the hospital after an accident at 2nd Street and Pitkin Avenue Sunday afternoon.
Police say the car was going south on First Street when it turned onto Pitkin, then went off the road and hit a large decorative rock in front of a business. The car then went back onto the road until it was pulled over by an officer.
The driver was given a field sobriety test then cuffed and taken to the Mesa County Jail.
The passenger in the car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The driver faces DUI charges.
