Traffic Lights On Main Street On To Slow?

.It’s been said that we spend six months of our lifetime waiting for red lights. There are twenty-four traffic light signals in downtown Grand Junction. Downtown's Main Street traffic lights are pre–timed, which makes some people avoid driving on Main Street when they are in a rush.

Jody Kliska, the Transportation Engineer for the City of Grand Junction, said that sensoring the lights would cause more problems then good.

Kliska states that the heavy pedestrian traffic in the downtown area would constantly trip the traffic light sensors. Ultimately, this could make for more car accidents.
