This weekend The Endzone sports bar in Fruita will be serving up more than just food and drinks.
Mike Kelley owns The Enzone and is planning a huge fundraising event for Saturday night with the Wisky Jack Band. Be sure to bring your friends, spend a lot of monay and tip well. All proceeds, and even his staff's tips, will go to the Roice Hurst Humane Society, "we wanted to do everything we could to help them out," said Kelley.
The concert is this Saturday from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. There is no cover charge.
Kelley also wants other local businesses to help him raise $45,000 in ten days.
Another example of generosity, Lanha Ferguson walked into the Roice-Hurst Humane Society Monday with a promise that if the no kill facility could raise up to $20,000 she would match it. Ferguson acknowledges it's a lot of money, but an animal's life is priceless in her eyes.
The shelter has served as the Western Slope's only no-kill animal shelter for the last 40 years and say with the generosity of the community they hope to stay open another 40.
