Murder Defendant Pleads Guilty

One of two men accused of murdering an openly gay man in Montrose last summer faces up to eight years in prison after accepting a plea agreement. 21-year-old Adam Hernandez pleaded guilty this week to charges of felony manslaughter and felony theft for his role in death of 36-year-old Kevin Hale. Hale was found strangled in Montrose's Buckley Park last July. Hernandez will be sentenced May 24th. The other defendant in the case 25-year-old Jason Fiske is also expected to take a plea deal. His next court date is April 26th.
