Pedestrian Struck and Killed By Freight Train

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a fatal pedestrian crash involving a Union Pacific freight train. A railroad engineer called in the incident just before 8:30 Sunday evening. The Clifton Fire Department responded. According to dispatch reports, emergency crews searched the tracks in the area of 31 and a Half Road and discovered a body near 31 and a Three-Quarters Road. The mile long freight train stopped immediately after making contact with the person. Tune in to 11 News at 5:30 Monday for the latest developments.
