Xcel Rates May go up.
Could Cost More to Keep your House Warm this Winter With natural gas prices rising, Xcel Energy is
asking for permission to raise its gas rates by 19% next month.

Denver (ap) _ With natural gas prices rising, Xcel Energy is
asking for permission to raise its gas rates by 19% next month.
The rate hike, if approved by the Colorado Public Utilities
Commission, will be 126% higher than August of last year.
The Rocky Mountain News said the request, made Friday, means the typical residential user will pay $31.64.
The utility does not currently make a profit on natural gas sales.
