SILVERTON, COLO. (AP) _Four southwestern Colorado counties that passed stringent license and insurance requirements for ATV riders want the state to pass a similar law.

San Juan, Hinsdale, Ouray and San Miguel counties enacted the requirements after the rise in popularity of the alpine loop, which links the cities of Silverton, Telluride, Ouray and Lake City.

Currently state law allows ATV riders as young as 10, with no license or insurance requirement.
