The Mesa County Health Department wants to introduce residents to some of the health issues facing the county and encourage people to join different panels.
A full slate of programs are scheduled for Public Health Week, which begins today.
Tonight from 6 to 7pm the dangers of methamphetamine are highlighted. That meeting is at the Community Services Building at 29 1/2 Road and North Avenue.
Tuesday night from 5 to 7 a meeting to discuss underage drinking is planned, also at the Community Services Building.
Wednesday a health Community Open House will be held from noon to 7pm at Two Rivers Convention Center in downtown Grand Junction. Immunizations and other health-prevention programs are not available at the open house, whose purpose is to introduce people to programs that need community support.
Meetings continue Thursday with a Youth Obesity Forum. That meeting is scheduled for 6 to 8pm at the Grand Junction City Hall. All meetings are free and open to the public.
