Steamboat Springs, Colo. (AP) Police say they used a taser on former Oak Creek Mayor Kathy Roderman after an officer tried to stop her on suspicion of driving drunk.

Roderman's attorney says the officer “terrorized” women in the house where she was arrested and that Roderman was hit twice with a taser while “begging for mercy.”

Oak Creek police say Roderman had run into the house with other passengers after an officer tried to stop them. Police say another woman slammed the door on the officer, who injured his shoulder. He entered the house after another officer arrived.

Roderman was Mayor from 2002 to 2006. She is free on $750 bail.

Oak Creek is 15 miles south of Steamboat Springs and 100 miles west of Denver.
