Officers had received multiple calls from other drivers concerned about an SUV heading the wrong way down the interstate.

The driver was first spotted near Horizon Drive, heading toward Clifton in the westbound lanes. When he got to the Clifton exit, the driver tried to get off the interstate using the on ramp, but ended up crashing his SUV into a guard–rail near the I–70 business loop. Thankfully that is the only thing he hit.

The driver was taken to Saint Mary's Hospital; his condition has not been released.

Alcohol is suspected in the accident.
