Clifton Man Arrested On 2nd Degree Kidnapping and Domestic Abuse Charges

A Clifton man was arrested Thursday night on kidnapping and domestic abuse charges.

Aaccording to the Mesa County Sheriff's Department, it started out early Friday with a domestic abuse situation between the male suspect, Robert Michael Dattage and two female victims.

According to Susan Redmond from the sheriff's office, Dattage physically attacked both women, one of which is said to be his girlfriend, at the Candlewood Trailer Park in Clifton.

Later that evening, about 5 o'clock, a 911 call was made with reports saying that Dattage physically forced one of the females into a car at the Racquet Club Apartments.

Authorities were able to find Dattage with a vehicle description about fifteen minutes later at the New Life Tabernacal Church on 29 Road,
where Dattage was found hiding in his car with a gun. The female victim was able to escape from the car and run to authorities.

Dattage was arrested and taken into custody. He is being held at the Mesa County Detention Facility without bond because of the domestic violence charge. He is also being charged with second degree kidnapping, two counts of third degree assault, and one felony menacing charge.
