Fruita's Health Care Options Are Growing

Video will be available shortly.

On Saturday, Family Health West announced its plans to construct a $17M hospital facility in Fruita. However, to better care for Fruita residents the organization is also building an urgent care center in Fruita's new Kokepelli Plaza.
The facility is still under construction and will initially offer rehabilitation services. Later this summer, the urgent care center will be equipped to handle a variety of patients. While St. Mary's and Community Hospitals will still be the centers for trauma care in the Grand Valley.
Family Health West's CEO Dennis Ficklin says the building of the care center and the 36,000-square-foot hospital is a sign of Fruita's continual growth.
Rehabilitation services at the urgent care center should begin in the next six weeks, while the new hospital is scheduled to open by the end of 2008.
