A Carbondale rancher is now facing arson charges over a wildfire in April that damaged four homes and burned a fisherman.
Prosecutors accuse Larry Del Gerbaz of allowing a slash pile on his property to remain smoldering. High winds a few days later fueled the fire which eventually burned across one and a half miles.
The district attorney says Colorado law allows arson charges to be filed even if the person setting the fire didn't intend to cause harm.
