Last year 1495 car accidents were reported by the City of Grand Junction and of those accidents 8 were fatal. According to the city's 2005 Traffic Crash Report, there are 160,219 vehicles registered in Mesa County, and of those vehicles 1495 of them were involved in accidents. 18 of the crashes involved pedestrians. Bicyclists were involved in 25 crashes, and the cyclist was at fault 65% of the time because they were riding on the wrong side of the road. 78% of all accidents were caused intoxicated drivers. The age group responsible for the most accidents in grand junction last year is the 16–20 year old age group. They were responsible for 3330 crashes alone.
