Plastic replaces paper for Downtown gift cards

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Paper or plastic? If you're using The Downtown Grand Junction Gift Card, it will no longer come in the form of a traditional paper gift certificate. The new plastic gift card will replace it.

More than 100 businesses will accept the gift cards. Downtown Grand Junction says this is a great alternative for consumers because it offers flexibility when buying gifts for family or friends. A list of merchants participating can be found on the Downtown Grand Junction website.

"It's a great gift to give to people because it keeps money in our local economy and it's flexible when you have a choice of 100 different places you can spend it. It doesn't get more flexible than that," said Aaron Hoffman, the Marketing and Communications Director for Downtown Grand Junction.

The gift cards are available at the Downtown Grand Junction Office located at 248 S. 4th Street (4th and Ute) during business hours Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. or you can purchase the cards online at http://www.downtowngj.org.
