Mesa County authorities are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a convenience store in Clifton. According to Mesa County Sheriff's officials, an armed man tried to rob a C & F food store around 2:30 Sunday morning. The man, allegedly armed with a gun, entered the store at 422 32 road and demanded money. However a female clerk working at the time refused to hand over the cash, and the man left. Mesa County Sheriff's Officials are investigating the report, and have not yet released a description of the suspect.
