DENVER, Colo. Authorities say one of two men who were shot and killed by Denver police was unarmed but had struck an officer with a stolen car and rammed police vehicles.

Police Chief Robert White said Thursday the other man had pulled a gun when officers tried to arrest him during a drug sting.

Both shootings occurred Wednesday but there appeared to be no direct link between them. No names have been released.

The Denver Post reports the officer who was struck by the stolen vehicle suffered minor injuries.

White says officers were trying to arrest one suspect on felony warrants and had followed him to a funeral home when the shootings occurred.

The suspect in the drug sting was shot in a parking lot at a city park.
