A presentation Tuesday night by the Mesa County Health Department will talk about the world's worst flu pandemic, and discuss the possibility of an equally–deadly outbreak of bird flu here in the United States.
Historian Dave Fischell will join Dr. Michael Aduddell from the Mesa County Health Department in talking about the 1918 flu pandemic that killed millions of people worldwide, and dozens right here in Grand Junction.
Bird flu has not yet become a threat to humans, but Dr. Aduddell says it should not be taken lightly. Should bird flu come contagious in humans it could kill millions worldwide.
Tuesday night's meeting is at 7 p.m. at the Whitman Building at the corner of 4th Street and Ute Avenue in Grand Junction. Registration is requested. Call the Mesa County Health Department 683–6606 to register.
