Goodwill Coming To Grand Junction

Video will be available shortly.

One of the world's largest nonprofit providers is coming to Grand Junction. That means the local Salvation Army will have some competition. The 30–thousand square foot building will be located off of F 1/4 and 24 1&2 Roads. It will house a Goodwill Thrift Store and provide employment and training services to Grand Valley residents, especially those with disabilities and disadvantages. Grand Junction's Salvation Army Thrift Store has been around for more than 95 years.
The Salvation Army uses proceeds from that store to support its Adult Recovery Program which helps adults get alcohol and drug free and become active and productive members of our community.
Major Alfred Parker with the Salvation Army says he doesn't think a Goodwill in Grand Junction will hurt their efforts. Goodwill plans to break ground this July and is slated to open in early 2007. It will bring a total of 40 jobs to Grand Junction.
