Stroller Strides incorporates a cardio and toning workout, with playing with your kids.
Moms show up with their strollers and babies in hand and prepare for a pretty rigorous workout. They warm up with some stretching and running in place, followed by a stroll around Canyon View Park, with some resistance and toning work along the way.
The program doesn't just build muscles. According to founder Shannon Wright, it builds friendships too, "We ask each other question and bounce ideas off each other, this brings us all together as a little tight knit group."
As far as involving the kids, mommies sing songs to them along the way, incorporate them into their workouts, and even play word and number games to keep them interested. And, if there's a fussy baby Wright says, "We're all moms, we've all been there, we just keep exercising."
Taya McCallum was at Stroller Strides for the first time, "It was great, more than I expected; I came thinking it would be a walk in the park, but it wasn't at all."
The class is on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-10a.m. It's $15.00 per class, but the price goes down when moms purchase multiple classes at a time.
