ORCHARD MESA, Colo. Update: Police say Taveres Seals was arrested for warrants and possession of methamphetamine.
A traffic stop Tuesday night takes a twist when officers found drugs in the drivers SUV.

Just after 6:00 p.m., Grand Junction Police pulled over a vehicle for a routine traffic stop behind the City Market on Orchard Mesa, but when officers approached the door, the driver took off through the food store's parking lot. The driver wound up hitting the car of a woman putting away her groceries and that is when police discovered drugs in the driver's SUV. The driver then fled on foot until police took the driver down at gunpoint.

One person was arrested. The Western Colorado Drug Task Force is investigating the incident. We will continue to update the story as the information becomes available.
