It's August and it's Snowing in the High Country!

Parts of Colorado are getting an early taste of winter.

The temperature Saturday in Loveland Pass, about an hour west of Denver, was only 39–degrees.

It's not quite cold enough for snow, but what's called "snow pellets" or a mixture of soft snow and hail, was falling.

A powerful storm season is bringing in mostly rain and some unseasonably chilly temperatures for the weekend in the Denver area.

Loveland Pass was closed for a couple of hours Saturday morning due to winter like conditions.
