Grand Junction High School celebrated a ribbon cutting Thursday to commemorate the opening of some new buildings.

The buildings were funded through a $109 million bond project passed by Mesa County voters in 2003. The bond project provided Grand Junction High School with a new gymnasium, art building and upgrades and renovations to existing buildings.

Members of the board of education, students and staff were on hand to celebrate the ribbon cutting.

All 42 District 51 schools have or will benefit from the bond project.
