Mesa County deputies stop a car for a broken tail light, and end up arresting two men.

It happened off of Grand Avenue and Rice Street just before 4:30 Thursday morning.

According to an arrest affidavit. 31 year old Dustin Hyatt ran into a bathroom at a nearby gas station.

Deputies say they found him dumping a small amount of pot, meth, and a syringe in the trash, and arrested him on drug charges.

The passenger of the car, James Lake was also arrested on weapons charges. Deputies say he is a convicted felon and shouldn't have had a knife.
