Third Graders Fare Well In CSAP Test

Third grade students in School District 51 fared fairly well on the 2006 CSAP Test. According to statistics released Tuesday, third grade students in the 26 schools tested here in the grand valley scored an average of 71 percent proficient and above. Wingate Elementary had the highest number of students score proficient and above with 91 percent. While Chatfield Elementary had the least with only 45 percent scoring proficient and above. In all 12 schools showed a decrease in the percentage of students who scored well. The district's average dropped two percent this year but remains one percent above the state average. CSAP Tests are used to measure a child's progress and grade schools.
