To help raise money to send the Special Olympians to the state, national and world games, law enforcement officers from across Mesa County are collecting donations where else, but at a doughnut shop. Trooper Chris Wright with the Colorado State Patrol will call the roof of the Krispy Kreme at the Mesa Mall home until Sunday evening. The goal is to encourage members of the community to stop by and help raise $10,000 for Special Olympic programs. In return donors can get free doughnuts and have a chance to win camping gear from Sportsman's Warehouse. In addition to the "Cops On Doughnut Shops" fundraiser, events will be happening all weekend long at the Krispy Kreme.
