A mid–air collision injures two Grand Valley motorcycle riders Sunday afternoon in the desert north of Grand Junction.
The crash happened at around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon in the desert off of 29 Rd.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, the accident happened while the two Grand Valley men, one age 18 and the other age 20, attempted to jump a hill from opposite sides.
The men, who were not riding together, did not have time to react to one another and collided in mid–air.
Both men were taken to St. Mary's Hospital after sustaining undisclosed injuries and Sheriff's Office Deputies say neither rider will be cited for the accident.
