Interim Chief Bill Gardner To Become Permanent

Grand Junction has a new police chief.
City manager Kelly Arnold nominated Bill Gardner, who has served as the interim police chief since December of 2005.
Gardner's experience includes serving as the under – sheriff for the Mesa County Sheriff's Office.
Arnold says he's pleased with Gardners work as the interim chief.

Garnder will assume his responsibilities as Police Chief right away
and will receive an annual salary of $105,472.
