Attempted Armed Robbery is Stopped By Good Samaritan

A Grand Junction woman is left shaken after a man approached her in the parking lot of the Safeway on Horizon Dr. Monday afternoon.
He was holding a knife and attempted to steal her purse.
The woman started screaming and a good samaritan scared the suspect away.
He then fled in a faded burgundy station wagon just after 3 p.m.
The Grand Junction Police are describing the suspect as a white male in his 30s, with a small build.
They are estimating that he is a about 5'5" and 145 pounds.
He was wearing a baseball hat and sunglasses at the time of the attempted robbery.
