Mack, Colo. (AP) Two people are feared dead in a plane crash near Baxter Pass that was discovered by a motorist along the Colorado, Utah border.

Garfield County Sheriff's Spokeswoman Tanny McCinnis said there were two victims in the plane. The Garfield and Mesa County sheriffs departments responded to the crash site near the ghost town of Atchee.

FAA Spokesman Ian Gregor said the plane is a single-engine, four-seat plane Grumman Cheetah. Gregor said a motorist saw the wreckage from a nearby road about 20 miles northwest of Mack, checked on it and saw two bodies.

A check of the aircraft's tail number shows the plane is registered to a man from Houston Texas.

The coroner has not released any identities in the crash.

The plane was enroute to Dove Creek, in Southwestern Colorado.

Additional information was not immediately available.
