Grand Junction Police Chief Sworn In

More than 100 people attend a personal and private ceremony this morning as Grand Junction's new Chief of Police is sworn in. Just after 9:30 Tuesday morning the newly appointed Police Chief Bill Gardner was sworn in in front of his peers and family. During the ceremony Gardner addressed the crowd by explaining his philosophy.
Gardner says he's passionate about service, excellence and dreams.
Gardner who has served as Mesa County's Undersherriff for the past three years and spent eight years as Operations Commander and Captain says Police Chief will be the last position he'll hold. Gardner holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Colorado. He and his wife Chris have three children and one grandson.
