A man who was shot by police will spend the next ten years of his life behind bars on assault and menacing charges.
Omar Infante–Ortiz was shot by a Grand Junction Police officer last fall after he pointed a gun at the officer.
In court Infante-Ortiz said it was dark and he couldn't see the officer.
Judge Gurley said that Infante-Ortiz had been drinking, and carrying the loaded gun was a recipe for disaster.
