A man found guilty of first-degree murder is sentenced today at the Mesa County Justice Center. A Mesa County District Judge sentences Hector Zambrano to life in prison without parole for murdering his wife Patricia Reyes in April of 2004. As his sentence was read Zambrano at the advice of his attorney's did not make a statement instead he sat quietly as others spoke. One of the victim's daughters, Patricia Morales of Mexico expressed gratitude to Judge Amanda Bailey, the state and all those who had worked on the case which she says brought her mother's killer to justice. Zambrano's son also spoke at the hearing saying it was not over and he would stick by his father's side. District Attorney Pete Hautzinger says the sense of victory is always different with a first degree murder trial. Zambrano's Attorney Steve Laiche says he will appeal his client's conviction.
