Murder Suspect In Court

A Clifton man accused of stabbing his wife to death makes his second court appearance. Cristobol Felix–Vega faces several charges the most serious being first-degree murder. During court, Judge Flynn ordered a preliminary hearing set for early July.
During the preliminary hearing the District Attorney's Office plans to introduce evidence which shows Felix–Vega did do what he's charged with and that a trial needs to take place. Felix–Vega is accused of killing his ex–wife Hortencia Mendoza by stabbing her once in the chest on April 7th. According to an arrest affidavit Felix–Vega claims Mendoza fell on the knife while trying to take it away from him during an argument. Mendoza died on the way to St. Mary's Hospital.
