Washington (AP) The Interior Department is looking into allegations that some of its workers were having sex with and accepting expensive gifts from the very people they issue offshore drilling leases to and collect royalties from.

The Inspector General calls it “a culture of ethical failure.”

Senator Charles Schumer pounced on the report saying it shows “the Bush administration officials once again in cahoots with big oil,” by failing to collect millions in oil royalties. Colleague Bill Nelson says “this is why we must not allow big oil's agenda to be jammed through congress.”
